At Amtrak's Route 128 Station, Acela was running on time.

The good news was that the Acela train to Washington, DC, was on time. The bad news was that it was due at 6:11 AM on Tuesday. Luckily for MGC, Susan O'Connor was at the train station by 5:45, to buy a ticket and to get a photo for us. She has promised to bring us along on her trip. She is participating in Family History Hill Day, managed by the Records Preservation and Access Coalition.

Each time someone donates to our Match Susan's Donation campaign, it's like a little hit of dopamine.

Susan sends her grateful appreciation for the actions of MGC Supporters in matching her contributions to make this trip possible. It lifted her spirits as she did the preparation research and study. RPAC provided focused materials on the goal: support of the National Archives and Records Administration. Susan researched NARA's programs and how they impact Massachusetts. She spent days researching the value of NHPRC funding as well as NARA budgets over decades. She investigated funding for libraries and how that will be impacted by budget decisions. All that information has been organized and packed into her briefcase, ready to share. You can be sure there are spreadsheets.

Susan will visit staff for her congressman, Rep. Lynch, and for our senators, Sen. Warren and Sen. Markey. She has appointments set up on Wednesday with all of them. She'll put in her steps as she runs from the Senate side to the House side and back to the Senate side of the U.S.Congress building.

It was important to learn which person is a member of which key Congressional or Senate committees, meaning that she knows what policy issues each can influence. In addition, Susan will convey our thanks to Sen. Warren for sponsoring the "Dear Colleague" letter, which will ultimately be signed by a bi-partisan group of senators supporting robust funding for NARA.

Let's keep holding Susan up!
